Cape Town and Joburg Ballet will be joining forces to present the iconic ballet, Swan Lake.
The two ballet companies will start their collaborative season early next month at the Joburg Theatre.
They will later move to the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), which has never before staged a full-length ballet production.
Performances will be from 4 to 13 July at the Joburg Theatre, and from 25 to 27 July at CTICC.
South African choreographer Veronica Paeper will oversee the re-staging of this version of Swan Lake, with Kirstél Paterson and Hannah Ward alternating the role of Odette/Odile.
They will be partnered by Leusson Muniz and guest artist Jerome Barnes in the role of Prince Siegfried.
The companies will also feature some exciting newcomers in the lead roles.
“I think it is just going to be magic.”
