The Democratic Alliance (DA) has officially opened nominations for its top ten leadership positions, sparking a shift in the party’s internal dynamics.
Among those stepping into the ring is Cilliers Brink, the DA's Tshwane caucus leader, who has accepted a nomination to contest for one of the three Deputy Federal Chairperson roles.
The party's elective congress is scheduled to take place on April 11 and 12 at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand.
Running under the campaign slogan, "Building Relationships, Expanding Impact, and Delivering DA Wins," Brink’s bid focuses on institutional growth and societal outreach.

He argues that for the DA to ascend as the largest political party in South Africa, it must adopt an "all of society" approach that fosters connections beyond traditional party structures.
"The DA has got a new generation of leaders to tackle the new challenges of the party. We have to grow, but we also have to sharpen our role in government but also in the GNU. I think the GNU has been good for South Africa but we need to driving the critical changes that grow the economy, create jobs and bring fundamental changes to people’s lives. I believe I can make a contribution."
Brink said he still intends to campaign to become Tshwane Mayor.
With the DA having provision for three deputy federal chairpersons, Brink said he wouldn’t struggle balancing the two positions should he win.
