Gauteng police investigating drowning of 2 teens during school excursion

JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng police are investigating the drowning of two teenagers during a school excursion.
The boys were aged 13 and 16 and drowned in the Hennops River on Monday afternoon while on a trip with the Daveyton Skills School.
They were apparently participating in a water activity at the time.
"The City of Tshwane Emergency Services Department received a call around 15:14, where the drowning incident was reported," said Tshwane emergency medical services (EMS) spokesperson Charles Mabaso.
"The bodies were recovered by the South African Police Services divers and were declared dead by paramedics on the scene."
