Inter Milan beat Barcelona in a thrilling 4 – 3 (7–6 aggregate) UEFA Champions League semi-final on Tuesday (6 May).

While the Italians were first to get on the score sheet with one goal and a penalty in the first half, the Spaniards came back fighting with three goals in the second half.

Not all was lost as Milan came from behind to secure their place in the final.

While coach Simone Inzaghi is often criticised for his changes, Vigoriti argues he got it ‘spot on’.

The turning point came when Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal hit the post and Milan was able to capitalise on it.

“[Barcelona] were 3–2 up… Then Francesco Acerbi, who really only uses his right foot to walk, made that stunning striker-like goal and put us back in contention in the 93rd minute.”

“It was a phenomenal night, but not one for the weak of heart.”
