KZN transport dept to assist families of 9 people killed in bus crash with memorial service, burials

DURBAN - The KwaZulu-Natal Transport and Human Settlements Department is helping families of the nine people who lost their lives in a bus crash with burials and memorial services.
On Sunday, the 82-seater bus was found to have veered down a steep embankment on the N2 between Mandeni and Stanger.
The bus was transporting members from the Twelve Apostles Church in Trinity from Richardson Bay to Shakaskraal.
Transport and Human Settlements MEC Siboniso Duma mentioned during his site visit on Monday that he would be meeting with family members of the deceased passengers on Wednesday.
"While the MEC will be visiting the families on Wednesday, he has also indicated that plans are underway to ensure that there is a memorial service as well as a funeral. After consultation with families, we will be in a position to indicate when are we likely to have the memorial service as well as the funeral," said the department’s spokesperson, Ndabensinhle Sibiya.
