PRETORIA - The State in the Senzo Meyiwa trial has brought an application to recall witnesses to testify on photographic evidence linked to the accused.
On Monday, the trial resumed in the Pretoria High Court, where Advocate George Baloyi made his case.
Five men are being tried for the 2014 murder of the Bafana Bafana captain.
Advocate Charles Mnisi was a no-show in court after he informed the court through a letter that he would be running the comrades marathon, and he sought leave to do so.
Mnisi’s request is what prompted the controversial race-based remarks from Judge Ratha Mokgoatlheng that he has now apologised for.
The State's Advocate Baloyi then brought an application to recall two police officers to testify on new pictures of Bongani Ntanzi, Muzi Mncube and Mthobisi Mncube.
“These additional photos do not form part of any of the exhibits that are before the court but are contained in the totality of photos that were downloaded on these gadgets mentioned above.”
It’s unclear whether the defence will oppose this application.
The court agreed to wait for Mnisi to indicate on Tuesday.
