Households spend an estimated R80 per day, using 21 kilowatts, warming their traditional geysers. To do the same with the IHP costs R8.

“If you think about heating a kettle of water in your home, you are using 1.5 kilowatts of power to heat 1.5 litres... You use 0.6 kilowatts of power in an IHP geyser to heat 200 litres of water.”
