Adult film star Sophia Leone (26) found dead

Adult film star Sophia Leone (26) has been found dead in her apartment by her family, confirmed Leone's stepfather Mike Romero on GoFundMe.

An investigation by local police into the cause of death is ongoing.

Romero says the family is "devastated and in shock".

The stepfather is asking for donations to cover the costs of the memorial "and other costs that may arise as the family works through this heartbreak."

There has been a spate of deaths in the adult film industry of late, fuelling online speculation that actors who 'speak up' about the dark side of the industry are in particular danger.
