A police investigation showed that the couple had a heated argument before the 49-year-old man threw boiling water on his 45-year-old partner.

CAPE TOWN - Following an apparent murder-suicide, Limpopo Police Commissioner Thembi Hadebe has urged couples experiencing difficulties in their relationships to seek professional help.

This after a couple was found dead in their home at Motserereng Village on Monday.

A police investigation showed that the couple had a heated argument before the 49-year-old man threw boiling water on his 45-year-old partner.

According to reports, the woman sustained severe burn wounds that led to her death.

Her attacker's lifeless body was also found in a room, where he had hanged himself.

Police said that a death note was found next to the suspect's body and it would assist in the investigation.
