JOHANNESBURG - Viewers can expect to be captivated by the new ten-part series, Wild Cards.
The debut of the charming comedy-drama series was recently announced by Universal TV (DStv Channel 117/GOtv Channel 38).
Under the direction of Tashi Bieler, Carolyn Newman, and Alix Steerman, on behalf of Blink49 Studios, the series is produced by Charles Cooper and Virginia Rankin.
Universal TV threw an exclusive preview party for its much-awaited new series, Wild Cards, at the African Pride Hotel at Melrose Arch and it proved to be a captivating morning. In addition to providing an exclusive peek at the gripping comedy-drama, the private screening drew an impressive guest list.
Guests were greeted with a dramatic red dress code and playful marketing activations inspired by the show, along with themed decor. A welcome drink, inspired by the performance, got things started, and then attendees were ushered in for an exclusive screening. Du Randt enticed viewers with her vibrant and captivating demeanor as she presented the topics of the show and promoted the September lineup on Universal TV.
The humorous crime-solving procedural Wild Cards centers on the odd partnership of a vivacious, cunning con artist and a bookish, cynical police officer. A demoted detective, Cole Ellis (Giacomo Gianniotti, Grey's Anatomy) has reluctantly spent the past year working on the maritime unit, while Max Mitchell (Vanessa Morgan, Riverdale) has been leading a nomadic existence, deviously conning everyone she encounters. However, while detained and being held at the station, Max ends up helping Ellis solve a local crime.
