Gauteng is in for a wet and unsettled Tuesday, with thunderstorms, steady rain and cooler conditions forecast across both Johannesburg and Pretoria, according to AccuWeather.
In Johannesburg, temperatures are expected to reach a high of 20°C during the day, with mostly cloudy skies and a thunderstorm. Rainfall is forecast at 5.6mm, with a 55% chance of precipitation and a 33% chance of thunderstorms. Winds will be moderate, with gusts reaching up to 44km/h.
Conditions worsen overnight, with temperatures dropping to 7°C. Showers are expected in the evening, with total rainfall climbing to 10.1mm and a 100% chance of precipitation. Cloud cover will remain dense at 99%, keeping conditions overcast and chilly.
Pretoria faces a similar pattern, but slightly warmer daytime conditions.
The capital is expected to reach 24°C, starting with some sunshine before turning cloudy with one or two afternoon thunderstorms. Rainfall is forecast at 6.2mm, with a 69% chance of precipitation and a 41% chance of thunderstorms.
At night, temperatures will dip to 10°C, with further thunderstorms expected in the evening. Rainfall could reach 14.6mm, accompanied by an 86% chance of precipitation and a 52% chance of thunderstorms, making for a wet and cloudy night.
Cape Town will enjoy stable weather conditions.
The city is expected to see a high of 19°C with mostly sunny skies and no meaningful rainfall expected.
Evening conditions in Cape Town will stay mild, with temperatures dropping to 13°C under clear to partly cloudy skies.
