At least 20 dwellings destroyed in Du Noon fire

CAPE TOWN - Twenty shacks have been razed to the ground in a fire in Du Noon.
A City of Cape Town firefighter was injured while trying to put out the blaze that broke out just after 8pm last night.
The metro's fire and rescue services spokesperson, Jermaine Carelse, said that it took several hours to get the fire under control.
It's not yet clear how many people have been affected.
"Initial estimates are that 20 informal dwellings and one formal dwelling were destroyed - the final figures will be confirmed following assessments by Disaster Risk Management."
