Looking for some fun in the sun with family and friends?
Then this new activity in Cape Town has your name written all over it.
Pedal Boat Cape Town was recently launched by Ian, owner of Kayak Clifton as a more affordable water based activity in the canals of Battery Park, V&A Waterfront.
It’s already a hit and a top activity to experience for only R100 (adults) and R50 (kids under 4 years old).
The pedal boats bring a unique experience to the city as a you can now pedal boat through the canals. Aside from its affordability, those who are unable to swim or fear water won’t miss out and are able to enjoy the safe pedal boat ride.
On your trip, you will get some light exercise if you are the one doing the pedaling but it is worth it.
You’ll experience a new way to see Cape Town while also exploring the canals and discover that it stretches all the way to the CTICC.
It gets better, spotting fish on route is highly likely and will unlock a kid like spirit as you pedal.
Some things you should know:
- Find the Pedal Boat kiosk at the communal launch site at Battery Park.
- A safety briefing is included and you can’t jump into the water while on the canal.
- No food or drinks are allowed.
- Recommend bringing a hat, sunscreen, water and wear comfortable clothes.
- Pedal Boat operates on most days, except in extreme weather conditions.
- Emphasis on no swimming skills are required, so join in on the fun if that is you.
- A trip is 30 minutes.
- Pedal boats allow groups of two (min) to six (max) people.
Pedal Boat Cape Town operating hours are
- Weekdays: 10am - 4pm
- Weekends: 9am - 5pm
