Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management cautions residents ahead of heavy rains

JOHANNESBURG - The City of Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management has called on residents to be extra cautious as heavy rains are expected on Thursday.
A level 4 warning for disruptive rains and thunderstorms for the area, has been issued by the South African Weather Service.
The city's Disaster Management spokesperson, William Ntladi, said that residents in low-lying areas and those living near rivers should be on high alert for possible flooding.
"For those who are performing the religious rituals and traditional rituals in the river streams, we'd like to give a warning to say they need to be very careful as all the rivers or streams around the city are filled and expected to be filled to capacity after the heavy downpours as expected."
