R40 million Lotto jackpot winner plans to ‘bless others’

National Lottery operator Ithuba confirms that one lucky person has claimed the R40 million Lotto Plus 1 jackpot. 

“I have not been able to eat since Saturday (28 December), with excitement," she says. 

After checking the ticking at a local retail store, she was advised to visit her nearest Ithuba office as the amount may be too big for the store to pay out.

The winner says she was so anxious that she kept the ticket wrapped in toilet paper and tucked it away in her diary until she made it to the offices where she became R40 million richer. 

She shares that she plans to use her fortune to bless others.

“When you are blessed, it is your duty to become a blessing to others… That is exactly what I plan to do with my winnings," she shares. 

In line with Ithuba’s practices, she will receive free counselling and financial advice.
