JOHANNESBURG - Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo is calling on families to inspect their loved ones' gravesites as torrential rains have wreaked havoc at cemeteries across the city.
Recent heavy rains have resulted in the collapse of headstones and the sinking of graves.
JCPZ said that this was not a new phenomenon and assured affected families that assistance would be issued by the department.
Spokesperson, Jenny Moodley: "As we enter the peak rainfall season, certain sections, particularly near more recent burials, will be susceptible to erosion, collapsed headstones, and sunken graves."
