MTHATHA - The murder case of the young man killed during a student protest at the Walter Sisulu University in Mthatha, in the Eastern Cape, has been postponed due to a power outage in court.
The university official accused of murder, Manelisi Mampane, was meant to apply for bail on Friday.
However, the State asked for a postponement.
The National Prosecuting Authority’s spokesperson in the province, Luxolo Tyali, explained: “We were electing the bail application to proceed today but unfortunately due to the fact that there’s no power in the building which is a fact that is beyond our control, the matter had to be postponed to Tuesday the 6th of May for bail application.”
