The organisation says it has chosen not to renew its event license, and that Miss South Africa Mia le Roux has nothing to do with the decision.

Miss South Africa organisation withdraws from Miss Supranational 2025

The Miss South Africa organisation has officially cut ties with Miss Supranational.

It confirmed on social media that it would not be sending a contestant to the 2025 edition of the pageant after choosing not to renew its license for the event.

“We deeply value the memories and connections of this event. We wish the Miss Supranational organisation a spectacular event," they shared on social media.

Typically, the runner-up represents Mzansi at the pageant.

This year, it was expected to be Nompumelelo Maduna, while last year it was 2023 Miss SA runner-up Bryoni Govender.

The organisation noted it was ‘fake news’ that the decision was made because of the current Miss South Africa, Mia le Roux.

“We note the fake news circulating and confirm that the decision was made solely by the organisation and is not attributed to Miss South Africa 2024 Mia le Roux, nor the runner-up, Nompumelelo Maduna.”
