Tears filled the eyes of the aunt of the 11-year-old girl who will soon be a mother.
This is a reality that has become hard to grapple with for the family of the child.
Her emotional aunt said that they were distraught following the incident.
"It left us speechless with the 11-year-old child, [who] doesn’t know anything. Even if you tell this child that you have a baby in your stomach, this child can't believe. She's going to ask you: 'What is pregnancy, mommy? You are saying that I'm pregnant. What is that?' We never knew that this is coming to the family and now we know how it feels."
The suspect's bail application has been postponed to Friday.
