JOHANNESBURG - Some community members in Fleurhof West of Johannesburg said they were fearful of what may happen to their children following the passing of an 11-year-old boy.

On Tuesday, Jayden Lee's body was found on a staircase at the Swazi's Place complex in the area.

According to police, he was reported missing by his family on Tuesday after he did not return home from school.

The driver of his scholar transport claims he dropped him off from school as usual on Tuesday, however, his family said that he never returned home.

Police have opened an inquest to determine what happened to Jayden Lee after engaging his family and the residents of the apartment block on Wednesday afternoon.

Community members conducted a forceful door-to-door search on Wednesday afternoon, as they believe the child was murdered in the complex.

"Whoever did this was allowed to come inside into this place. They had access to the building or who stays in this place."

Residents said they needed arrests to be made soon to feel safe again.
