WASHINGTON - President Cyril Ramaphosa says his United States (US) counterpart, Donald Trump, now has doubt and disbelief over his false narrative that white South Africans are facing genocide in the country.

Trump ambushed Ramaphosa using video footage and fake documents in a bid to prove that there is genocide.

The accusations, however, were met with denials by the South Africans who conceded that crime is rampant, but isn’t targeted at a specific grouping based on race.

Various members of Ramaphosa’s delegation shared their views on this, including billionaire Johann Rupert.

Ramaphosa says South Africa’s camp has explained that the root cause of the high figures is linked to the state of the country’s economy, among many other factors.

Turns out President Trump’s concern is about the safety of people in South Africa, much as he zeroed it down to say white farmers. We kept saying there’s a security problem and we're not running away from it, it's criminality.”
