JOHANNESBURG - With less than a year since taking up membership and rising to become Umkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party's secretary general, speculation is rife that he might get booted out today.
This comes as the MK Party awaits to hear from its leader, former president Jacob Zuma, on Tuesday afternoon.
Zuma is set to shed light on recent political developments in his party.
Less than a year after walking away from the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), Floyd Shivambu’s gamble is likely to face a major test.
This is on the back of speculation that Zuma will reshuffle his high command, which could include its secretariat.
Shivambu’s key ally, Mzwanele Manyi, was removed as the party’s chief whip in Parliament last week.
There have also been reports of factions, with Shivambu being pitted against Zuma’s daughter Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla.
Arthur Zwane, Sfiso Maseko, Sihle Ngubane (who remains in Parliament) and Thanduxolo Gorbachev Dyodo have previously occupied the role of secretary since the organisation launched more than a year ago
