Stick around - there are pictures shared from Maytham's point of view at the end but first, let's get into his experience...
Maytham notes that the biggest change in these events would probably be "energy" because he's going from BeJOHNcé to 'Sir' John Maytham, cricket extraordinaire... it's giving, "demure".
"From the electric energy of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to the more sedate, demure but still energetic Lord's - it's going to be a dream," says Maytham.
The legendary radio host has secured tickets from Wednesday 11 June to Saturday, 14 June.
Maytham notes that the weather looks promising. Some rain is forecast for Wednesday and Thursday's games, but sunny skies are predicted for Friday and Saturday - with little cloud cover and very little wind.
Maytham says Proteas Coach, Shukri Conrad has "made some interesting choices," which will be interesting to see play out in reality.
"Putting in Wiaan Mulder at number three, not a position that he has much experience in, going for Lungi Ngidi over Dane Paterson and looking forward to Kagiso Rabada coming in to bowl for the first time and watching his reaction as the Aussies begin to chirp him..."
- John Maytham, Afternoon Drive Host - CapeTalk
As for the Londoners, this event is "huge" in the country, says Maytham.
"The London papers have been so full of this... this is a huge event. It's front page coverage, it's a big thing."
- John Maytham, Afternoon Drive Host - CapeTalk
"Some of the papers here have suggested that probably 80% of the tickets have gone to South African or Australian fans. There has been huge interest from the English cricket-loving public, but the South Africans and Australians were prepared to wait in physical and online cues much longer than others..."

Maytham shares his dream for the championship match opener...
"I'd love South Africa to bowl first, I'd love to have Lungi Ngidi open up the slope, Kagiso Rabada on the other side - and at lunch have the Australians 47 for five or something like that... dare I dream?"
- John Maytham, Afternoon Drive Host - CapeTalk
We promised pictures... let's go.
