Body of missing CT taxi owner discovered as feud between taxi associations continues

CAPE TOWN -The body of a man believed to be that of a missing taxi owner from Lwandle near Strand has been found in a field near the N2 and Sir Lowry's Pass Road.
It's understood that the 36-year-old taxi operator affiliated with the Cape Amalgamated Taxi Association (CATA) went missing last week.

He was found by a passerby looking for firewood in the bushes earlier on Wednesday.
At least seven taxi operators from rival taxi organisations CATA and Cape Organisation for the Democratic Taxi Association (CODETA) have been killed in the past two weeks over a dispute about the route from Mfuleni to Somerset West.
"Somerset West police opened an inquest docket for further investigation. A postmortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death. We appeal to anyone who may have information regarding this incident to please contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111," said Western Cape police spokesperson Anelisiwe Manyana.
