3 Mpumalanga policemen accused of murder to discover bail fate next week

CAPE TOWN - Three Mpumalanga policemen accused of murder will only know next week if they'll be granted bail or not.
 
The trio applied for bail at the Evander Magistrate's Court on Thursday.
 
The three constables allegedly killed a motorist after assaulting him while attending an accident scene between Embalenhle and Evander last weekend.
 
The officers face charges of murder and defeating the ends of justice. 
 
IPID spokesperson Lizzy Suping explained: "When the officers arrived at the scene, one of the motorists, allegedly involved in the accident, fled on foot. 

"The officers gave chase, arrested him and allegedly assaulted him. The motorist who was assaulted sustained multiple head injuries and died a few days later in hospital."
