CAPE TOWN - The Democratic Alliance (DA) in the Stellenbosch Municipality wants the HR Manager captured on video expressing racist views to be suspended.
The man believed to be Alexander Kannemeyer can be heard making discriminatory remarks about an appointment process.
He's also heard promoting unlawful labour practices and expressing his frustration at the hiring of white males over other races.
A special council meeting was convened today to deal with the matter.
"At today’s Council meeting, the DA successfully brought a motion starting the legal process to suspend Mr Kannemeyer. In terms of due process, the employee has seven days to make representations as to why he should not be suspended," said DA national spokesperson, Willie Aucamp.
