The Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) said that the process of returning South African delegates detained during the Global Sumud Flotilla was at an advanced stage.
Last week, the Israeli navy intercepted the flotilla, involving around 45 vessels carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza as part of a pro-Palestinian mission.
More than 400 activists and politicians were reportedly stopped from reaching the war-ravaged Palestinian territory.
Department spokesperson Chrispin Phiri said that its officials were in contact with the detained South African delegates.
"Our specialist team met with the South African delegation at the Negev Israeli prison facility. The delegation has confirmed that the detainees are in good health and in high spirits. The necessary procedures for their safe passage and return home to South Africa are advancing steadily."
