Mitchells Plain police are on the hunt for the suspects responsible for a shooting incident in Beacon Valley.
The shooting took place on Austin Street on Sunday, leaving a 28-year-old man wounded.
The latest incident comes just days after Acting Police Minister Firoz Cachalia, presented the police's new anti-gang plan to the select committee on security and justice in Parliament.
Statistics presented in Parliament showed that close to 500 gang-related deaths were recorded in the province since April.
The new plan to address the alarming rate of gang violence in areas, including Mitchells Plain, includes a multi-pronged approach and improved communication between the city and community members.
Police spokesperson Wesley Twigg said that no arrests had been made yet in the case of attempted murder.
"Police members attended to the crime scene, and upon arrival at the scene, the victim was taken to a medical facility for treatment in a private vehicle. The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation."
