Eskom's top management says the entity is not expecting any days of load shedding during the coming winter season.
The power utility said it’s also achieved more than 60 percent of key performance indicators over the financial year under review.
The Eskom board and management were briefing Parliament's Electricity and Energy Portfolio Committee on Wednesday about its corporate plan and its winter outlook.
"Our planning scenario was on the basis of a base case of unplanned capacity loss factor of 12000 megawatts. With that, we are not anticipating any days of load shedding in this coming winter," said Eskom National Transmission Company South Africa, Monde Bala.
Board chairperson Mteto Nyati said they’ve gone for 341 days without load shedding and have saved billions in the process.
"We have slashed diesel expenditure by 62 percent, saving approximately R10 billion compared to the same period last year."
