Last week, eight pupils from the school appeared in court, formally charged with several counts of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
They were suspended after a video of one of the incidents went viral.
Milnerton High School said what it stands for is clearly expressed in the institution's vision and mission statements and its ethos calls on members to nurture a community of integrity, care and excellence.
But the school said the violence recently witnessed violates these core values and has shaken the confidence in the safety of its learning environment.
Further incidents and videos have come to light during ongoing bullying and assault investigations, and these are receiving urgent attention.
The school said its governing body and the school leadership had initiated discussions and wider consultation regarding a comprehensive response plan for safety, discipline and positive behavioural support.
Meanwhile, school activities are proceeding as normal, with additional security measures in place to ensure the safety of learners and the smooth running of the matric exams.
