Brown Mogotsi, his lawyers, meeting with police over alleged assassination attempt

5 November 2025 | 12:13EWN understands that Mogotsi has agreed to provide police with a statement related to an alleged assassination attempt on his life on Monday evening.

Controversial businessman Brown Mogotsi has been located and is currently meeting with police, together with his attorneys.
EWN understands that Mogotsi has agreed to provide police with a statement related to an alleged assassination attempt on his life on Monday evening.
Police have been trying to locate Mogotsi since October following a raid at his business premises in the North West regarding the confiscation of several digital devices.
His devices are wanted by police in relation to an ongoing investigation.

Mogotsi alleges that gunmen in a white bakkie opened fire on him while he was driving a red Chevrolet Aveo in Vosloorus on Monday.
Police recovered 11 shell casings at the scene, but say Mogotsi initially declined to give a statement about the incident.
He then agreed to present himself at the Vosloorus Police Station before 8am on Tuesday morning, but never showed up.
EWN has now learnt that Mogotsi, together with his lawyers, are currently with police and is now providing information about the alleged attempted hit.
