Police seize Brown Mogotsi's digital devices

Nearly a month after a search warrant was issued for controversial businessman, Brown Mogotsi, police have finally seized his digital devices.

Officers engaged Mogotsi in Johannesburg on Wednesday over an alleged attempt on his life and claims that he interfered in police investigations.

Mogotsi claims that on Monday evening, unknown gunmen opened fire on his vehicle in Vosloorus on the East Rand.

Police have been searching for him for several weeks amid allegations that he was a middleman between senior police officials and underworld figures.

Police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe: "The SAPS has successfully executed the search and seizure warrant that was issued for the 16 October 2025 on Mr Brown Mogotsi. The team investigating the fraud, corruption and defeating the ends of justice case has also seized certain devices from him. The team met at Brown Mogotsi’s lawyers' offices in Johannesburg."
