Properties are at risk as a wildfire rages in Montagu.
Firefighters are still battling an active fireline that originated above the Guano Caves.
On Thursday night, there was some progress in containing the blaze, but crews withdrew when heavy mist settled in.
Strong winds have pushed the fireline away from the rocky ridges and into denser vegetation, where it's intensified.
The Cape Winelands District Municipality's Jo-Anne Otto said the fire had jumped the R62 and had spread to multiple locations.
"Crews have deployed multiple vehicles and are engaged in active property protection. Helicopters have been dispatched and are en route. Multiple properties are at risk. The R62 is currently closed."
