Giraf Macadamia Milk, made from sustainably grown South African macadamias, is known for its rich, creamy texture and complete lack of vegetable and seed oils.
Born out of Mpumalanga, they offer three variants: original, oat, vanilla, and unsweetened. They are all dairy-free, lactose-free, and gluten-free.
It is a great option for consumers looking for a dairy alternative, says wellness presenter Liezel van der Westhuizen.
Macadamias are high in omega-3, 6, and 7 and are unique in having the lowest carbs and the highest levels of good fats of all nuts.
“Macadamia nuts themselves are rich in monounsaturated fats that are the same heart-supportive fats that we find in olive oil, which are linked to lower total and LDR cholesterol and better cardiovascular health,” said Van der Westhuizen.
She added that, even if you don’t like macadamia nuts, this is a viable alternative option as it does not have an overpowering taste.
They also recently expanded into the UK.
"It’s a global player right here on our doorsteps," she said.
