Hanover Park gang violence: 'We are so broken'

A Hanover Park mother whose teenage son was killed by gangsters has made a desperate plea for an end to the violence.
On Saturday, around 200 mothers from Hanover Park who have lost loved ones to gang violence rallied for support.

The group attended "The Cycle of a Woman" event at Chrystal High School in Hanover Park.
Kashiefa Mohammed, who started the event after her son was stabbed to death by gangsters eight years ago, said that it’s for mothers who’ve experienced similar tragedies.
"Most of them lost children six or seven years ago, but when they come here, you can still see the pain. You can still see the grief. Our people in Hanover Park, our mothers are so lost."
Mohammed has pleaded with the gangs to stop the violence.
"We are so broken. Please, mothers, hug your children, tell them that you love them. We never had a chance to do that. We have to go to the graveyard and sit there and look at the sand. We need this shooting and killings to stop."
