Fire and rescue services have been inundated with callouts over the weekend as the Western Cape fire season enters its peak.

The fire destroyed the first wing and restaurant of the Cape Dutch-style heritage site.
The Drakenstein Municipality's Zulfa Peterson said that a full investigation into the fire can be expected
"The cause of the fire is still unknown, and a full investigation will begin once mop-up operations are complete."
Meanwhile, 40 informal structures were lost in a fire in Mbekweni, Paarl.
The blaze was extinguished shortly after 5 pm and no fatalities reported.
Fires in the Overstrand and Cape Winelands municipalities have also been contained.
Overstrand municipal manager Dean O'Neil said, "Additional ground teams have been deployed and as previously communicated, landowners are urged to continue preparations and remain ready.
