Search continues for man swept away by heavy rains in Amanzimtoti

Police search and rescue divers are back in Amanzimtoti, south of Durban, to search for one person who was swept away by heavy rains on Sunday night.
The unaccounted-for adult male was one of six occupants whose car was washed into a river after attempting to cross a flooded low-lying bridge.

Three of the occupants managed to escape uninjured, while the other three went missing.
On Monday, rescuers and police divers recovered two of the three missing bodies.
ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said the search for the remaining body continues.
“Police search and rescue divers are in the water as we speak. They have resumed operations this morning from where they found the other gentleman, and we will keep you updated today.”
