Limpopo police investigate murder after discovering body of missing girl

Police in Limpopo have opened a case of murder following the discovery of the body of a missing girl.

Fifteen-year-old Xilaveko Suke and her father were first reported missing on Monday with their family saying they last saw the pair at Rotterdam village.

According to the family, Suke left home with her father, Peter Baloyi, travelling to Giyani.

When they did not reach their destination, a missing persons case was opened.

On Christmas Day, police received a report that the girl’s body was found decomposing at her father’s home in Rotterdam village.

Police said she had stab wounds.

The house of the father was subsequently burnt down, and the father’s whereabouts remain unknown.

Police are urging the public to come forward with any information to help with the murder and missing persons' case.
