8-year-old boy reported missing after weeks of disappearance

Police on Monday searched for an eight-year-old boy who went missing from his home in Makaza, Khayelitsha, on 14 December.

Police reports indicated the boy's mother only reported him missing on 2 January.

The Khayelitsha Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit appealed to the public for assistance in locating the child.

Spokesperson Wesley Twigg said the boy was last seen wearing an orange jacket, green short pants and pink running shoes.

“On 14 December 2025, he left his home in Ceba Street, Makaza, and has not been seen since. The child was reported missing on 2 January 2026 by his mother,” said Twigg.
