Despite not having the relevant documents to be in the country, the man accused of killing Warrick Stock, also known as DJ Warras, intends to make a bid for bail.
On Monday, 25-year-old Mozambican national, Armindo Pacula, appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrates Court, charged with the murder of stock.
Police claim he is the gunman who was caught on CCTV footage shooting stock five times on 16 December 2025 in Joburg’s CBD.
According to sources, Pacula was paid only R7,00 to carry out the murder of Stock.
Pacula's appearance saw heavily armed members of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) standing guard within the court.
The 25-year-old was arrested by members of Gauteng’s provincial investigation unit on Friday evening in Primrose, on the East Rand.
Pacula was hiding out in a shack in the Marathon informal settlement, when a tip-off led police to his location.
Pacula - charged with premeditated murder, conspiracy to commit murder and being in the country illegally - opted to be presented by Legal Aid.
A member of the Legal Aid team informed the State that despite being in the country illegally, Pacula insists on applying for bail.
“The address that he has given, he is not clear and there is no indication that he has lawful documents to be in SA. But he still insists that he wants to apply for a formal bail application.”
Pacula will remain in custody until next week while police attempt to verify his address.
