President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to meet with young people at a Presidential Youth Roundtable in Khayelitsha, Cape Town, on Tuesday.
The National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) is hosting the engagement ahead of the State of the Nation Address (SONA).
The event is an opportunity for young South Africans to share their views and challenges directly with the president and members of his executive.
Tuesday's discussions will focus on the life of a young South African.
Khayelitsha youth will have the president's ear to share their opinions, ideas and realities ahead of the annual SONA in Cape Town on Thursday.
High unemployment, poor quality education, high crime rate, substance abuse, and significant mental health struggles are among the topics on their agenda.
South Africa's youth unemployment remains critical, with the 15-24 age group facing a 58.5% jobless rate, and the demographic aged 25-34 is at 38.4%.
Several ministers are expected to participate in these discussions to address matters related to their respective portfolios.
