Lukhanyi Calata, son of struggle icon Fort Calata, has apologised and retracted statements he made about politicians during his testimony at the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) cases inquiry.
The inquiry resumed this morning with testimony from Calata.
His father, Fort, was part of the group known as the Cradock Four, which included Matthew Goniwe, Sparrow Mkhonto, and Sicelo Mhlauli. The men were assassinated by Apartheid Special Branch police in 1985 while travelling from Port Elizabeth to Cradock in the Eastern Cape.
During his testimony, Calata reflected on the role he believes some politicians have played in hindering the administration of justice.
However, he has apologised for his choice of words.
