The family of murdered e-hailing driver Isaac Satlat has confirmed that his body is ready to be repatriated to Nigeria after successfully raising the necessary funds.

The 22-year-old was killed two weeks ago during what would have been his final trip of the day.

The murder was captured on his vehicle's dashcam, with the footage sending shockwaves across social media platforms.

Solomon Ashoms, speaking on behalf of the Satlat family, stated that logistics are currently being finalised.

“In the next week or so, we should be able to have a definite date. This is when the body is going to be repatriated. Back home in Nigeria, we have a small team there who is actually facilitating the arrival of the body.”

Police have arrested six suspects for their alleged involvement in the murder.

While five appeared before the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court today, the case was postponed to early March after one of the accused was not brought to court.

Ashoms noted that the family continues to struggle with the weight of their loss, particularly Satlat's father.

“The father has been unwell, but now he's getting a little bit better. I went to visit him the other day, and it was the first time he was actually getting out of the house. So it's really encouraging," Ashoms said. "We look forward to seeing not a long court process and case, but something that should end swiftly, just so the family could be able to bring closure to it.”
