Disgraced police officer Fannie Nkosi will return to the Pretoria North Magistrates Court on Monday for a formal bail application.
Nkosi was arrested earlier in April during a raid at his home.
The sergeant’s arrest followed his suspension in March during his testimony at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry.
Nkosi is accused of being the middleman between suspected crime kingpins and senior police officers.

Police said the raid at the home of Nkosi was prompted by a tip-off that there was suspicious activity on his property just days after he was officially suspended.
According to the police, officers from the Madlanga task team, which is leading the investigation, found State-owned ammunition and seven licensed firearms on his property, with only four in a safe, while another was under his bed, another was in the mattress, and another was discovered in his car.
Police also found six dockets in Nkosi’s Wendy house, some for cash-in-transit heists and another for hijacking.
Nkosi has been charged with failing to safeguard his firearms and ammunition. He also faces a charge of defeating the ends of justice and failure to mount a safe.
The State will argue that as a suspended police officer, who was supposed to hand in all State property upon his suspension, Nkosi had no business being in possession of dockets or State-owned ammunition.
