CAPE TOWN - Western Cape police have arrested four suspects including a bogus doctor for fraud and illegal dealing in petroleum gas at Siyahlala in Paarl.
The suspects were apprehended after police received information about a person impersonating a doctor issuing sick notes in the area.
The four suspects including the fake doctor were found in section one at Siyahlala, also selling petroleum gas at the premises.
Police spokesperson, FC van Wyk: "The 39-year-old male was arrested for fraud, forgery and uttering (misrepresentation of a doctor, selling sick notes and certificates). Several printing machines, computers, sick notes, petroleum gas and scales were found and confiscated.
"The arrested suspects were detained at Paarl East SAPS [South African Police Service] and will appear in the Paarl Magistrates Court on Monday on the mentioned charges."
