JOHANNESBURG - ActionSA says it’s in talks with other political parties in a bid to stabilise governance in the City of Joburg and the City of Ekurhuleni.
The party claims both the Gauteng metros are in shambles with coalition partners allegedly putting service delivery on the back burner.
ActionSA national chairperson Michael Beaumont says the party is reviewing its previous decision not to go to bed with the African National Congress (ANC) in the metros as it looks for solutions in parts of the province.
This is believed to be on the agenda at the party’s two-day senate under way on Sunday.
“Action SA is at pains to observe that our past commitments preclude the party from entering coalitions with the ANC. Having said this, ActionSA holds enough seats in these municipalities and cannot allow instability to persist to the detriment of the residents of these cities while capable of being construction opposition.”
