ESCORT - Leader of the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party Jacob Zuma has warned party members that divisions may dent the party’s progress.
Zuma was speaking at a memorial service for six MK Party members who died in a taxi accident while heading to his Nkandla home for a celebration in August.
The MK Party president said members must put their differences aside, as conflict could cost the party, which is still being built.
Some MK Party members displayed their differences in the presence of Zuma at the memorial service held in Escort on Saturday.
The disgruntled members interrupted one of the provincial leaders, Thobani Zuma, as he took to the podium.
While delivering his keynote speech, Zuma first addressed the issue.
“We have a big task as the uMkhonto weSizwe Party of uniting black people. Therefore, we shouldn’t be the ones who are divided and creating conflict, or else we don’t know what we are doing.”
Zuma said anyone who will not abide by the party’s values should rather leave the organisation.
