Ekurhuleni mayor promises improved service delivery

Ekurhuleni executive mayor Nkosindiphile Xhakaza said residents can look forward to improved service delivery in the next year.

He was speaking during his second State of the City address at the OR Tambo government precinct in Germiston on Wednesday.

Xhakaza added that the city remains focused on delivering tangible results despite misinformation about the city and ongoing challenges.

He highlighted key priorities, including improving basic services, rebuilding the city’s finances, repairing infrastructure, and partnering with the private sector.

“I wish to make it clear that no amount of misinformation peddling, rumour mongering and destruction will divert us from our mission to better our service delivery offering. This year’s theme is: fixing local government – fixing the frontline from the barren years to the season of hope. We refuse to be remembered as the leadership of words and phrases, but rather that of tangible and impactful outcomes," said Xhakaza.
