Safe Space app combines social media and safety

Relebogile Mabotja speaks to Nyasha Sinamane, founder and CEO of Tech Metropolis.

With a vision to create something that could better protect his family, the Safe Space App was born.

Together with his co-founder and designer, the idea was brought to reality after seven years. 

“We’re two kids from Boksburg, we used to drink out of the same hose pipe together… We had this idea to be the Mark Zuckerberg’s of South Africa. The big thing was manifestation, you have to put out what you want to do into the world.”

Safe Space is a safety social app, you add a list of people that would be contacted in an emergency.

When you press the signal, whoever you have listed with be notified.

There are widgets that also provide additional emergency information and resources.

The Safe Space App is available to download on the Apple, Google and Huawei Stores.
