Game of Thrones movie in the works

Warner Bros says a movie about the cult-favourite HBO series Game of Thrones is in the works.

George R.R. Martin’s fantasy epic garnered a massive following with eight seasons and two prequels, House of the Dragon and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.

The film is reportedly about Aegon I, the founder of the Targaryen dynasty, and his conquest of Westeros, a few centuries before the setting of the original Game of Thrones television series.

While a director has not yet been chosen, House of Cards showrunner and Andor writer Beau Willimon has reportedly submitted a draft.

But it may be a long wait for any confirmation, as Warner Bros is in the process of being sold to Paramount Skydance.
